As a seasoned trauma-specialist I have worked with various & diverse populations, of all ages. I began my career supporting survivors of violent crimes, domestic violence, & other forms of abuse & neglect.
I have a colorful skill set ranging from school based issues to treating US Veterans as well as children as young as 6 suffering from PTSD. I also spent years at a psychiatric children's hospital stabilizing & supporting children & their families.
I love working with children & their caregivers, caregivers of children looking for support, teens, young adults, men, women, & folks all across the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Seeing folks get better & start to love themselves more fully is so rewarding to see.
Because you deserve it.
When I'm not working you'll find me walking my 2 adorable pitbull rescues, creating colorful paintings, & dragging my husband on get-a-way vacations to explore new cultures and let loose!
I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the College of Charleston in 2014. I earned my Master of Social Work in 2017.
I have over 10 years of experience working with children as young as 5 to folks in their late 50's.
Hi, my name is Abi. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, and founded my private practice Under The Oaks Counseling, LLC. If you're struggling to heal your inner child, break patterns, are depressed, anxious, or grieving, I am here to offer you a judgment-free, safe space.
I take a holistic approach to therapy, which means we're getting to the root of the problem. In order to rebalance your systems, we build self-awareness, integrate mind/body connection, and learn what motivates and restricts you.
Past traumas or toxic relationships change our brains, and we develop coping mechanisms (mentally, emotionally, or physically) to keep us safe. These mechanisms don’t vanish when the situation changes, and unresolved trauma can cause immense suffering. Fortunately, they can be unlearned and we can heal.
I am a trauma-informed and attachment-based therapist. I focus on helping individuals regulate their fight-or-flight nervous system and build meaningful relationships. I also walk alongside individuals on their grief journey because it can feel painful, lonely, and become hard to navigate.
I provide therapy to folks who want a refreshingly human therapeutic experience. My ideal clients want to feel safe and supported while knowing they are talking to a real person. I like to keep my approach to therapy simple by identifying your strengths, cheering you on as you reach your goals, challenging you when necessary, and using just enough humor/cuss words to keep us grounded. Additionally, I firmly believe that mental health must be treated in a holistic way. Meaning, I take into consideration your technology usage, your diet, your exercise habits, etc to gain a full picture of your wellness journey.
I specialize in working with young women struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and food & body image concerns.
If you are someone who is pretty good at “keeping it together” on the outside, but inside you feel flooded with doubt, critical self-talk, and a constant fear of not being good enough, we may be a good fit to work together! I would love to help you learn how to quiet down that inner critic and make space for more self-kindness and compassion.
I take an active approach in my work with clients, providing a safe place for you to share your story while also offering tools, feedback, and discussion to help you better understand yourself and your experiences. My style is casual & open, and there’s nothing I appreciate more than finding things to laugh about (even through the hard stuff). I take a person-centered approach to therapy, which means I believe that you are the expert on you. I am not there to “fix” you, but rather to help you see yourself more clearly and to support you on your journey toward being able to fully enjoy your life.

My name is Lucy and I am passionate about helping others thrive individually and in their relationships.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in one important principle: within every single struggle we face lies an opportunity for positive change. I hold the belief that humans possess an innate capacity to turn life's challenges into pivotal growth opportunities. My goal as a therapist is to empower others to recognize their unique strengths, redefine their struggles, and create a fulfilling life.
I utilize a collaborative, client-centered approach to encourage autonomy and strengths-development in every person I treat. I draw upon solution-focused and cognitive behavioral methods to assist others in this process and am trained in the Gottman Method to assist individuals in navigating a variety of relationship issues.
Hi, I'm Patti, I'm a clinical psychologist. With over 30 years of experience working with individuals, families, and couples I have developed my own approach to therapy. I work hard to meet people where they are at in the journey of healing. My belief is that this journey is a lifelong process and there is often a time in our lives when people need to speak to someone who can help them process whatever they are experiencing with no judgement.
My overall approach is to help people become the directors of their life and remove the blocks that prevent them from achieving whatever they want. These blocks could be narratives that they tell themselves, trauma, or simply learned behaviors. I worked hard to help people find their “whys” to their behavior or their thinking and once that “why” is uncovered, to help find a path to heal and then to change their approach.
I believe every session I have with a client should be valued added, meaning giving them things to address between our sessions. I also believe that clients own their sessions, meaning they change what we are working on if something comes up that needs immediate action.
While I work with clients with a variety of issues, I specialize in family of origin issues, substance abuse issues including process addictions, codependency issues, relationships issues and issues related to family dynamics. I also treat adolescents who are struggling with substance abuse and process addictions.
