These amazing therapists are welcoming clients in the Charleston Counseling Co-Op. Please note that the Co-Op is a community-driven coworking space for therapists; the clinicians are independent operators, their clinical work is not supervised by management of CCC.

Katherine DuPre, LISW-CP/S

Hi! I'm Katherine, I'm the founder of the Co-Op, and I'm a licensed clinical social worker and therapist. I support people who are navigating grief, medical or fertility trauma, postpartum challenges, or processing major life transitions. I can also support you through depression, anxiety, or learning new coping skills.

I bring a therapeutic style that is curious, compassionate, and deeply accepting. I believe that our feelings are always trying to talk to us, and I will work with you to slow down, listen inward, and create a more open dialogue with your emotions and reactions. We can process struggles like how to move forward in life while carrying the weight of grief, the stress of caregiving, the shock of meeting new parts of yourself when you become a parent, or the quiet shame that we often feel around internal struggles.

I use Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Acceptance and Commitment Theory (ACT). My approach is trauma-informed and relationship-centered, especially if that relationship is with yourself. I can help you explore the parts of yourself that feel overwhelmed, stuck, or silenced, while also helping you be kind to yourself and learn to trust yourself again.

(Also offering LISW Supervision, always ready to help rock star social workers take the next leap!)

Mary Macrae Chapman, DSW, LISW-CP

I’m a Charleston native, Doctor of Social Work, retired party girl, rescue animal advocate, & EMDR-certified Licensed Therapist. I specialize in trauma recovery and women’s mental health. I help women connect the dots between trauma, relationships, anxiety, burnout, SI, people-pleasing, & all the “why am I like this?” moments that suddenly make more sense once trauma enters the group chat.

I am well seasonded in treating Complex-PTSD, PTSD, trauma, ADHD, PMDD, attachment wounds, anxiety/panic, self-harm, suicidality, & the deep dives that lead to self-understanding, nervous system regulation, healthier relationships, and self-trust.

Trauma in women just looks different. Together, we’ll peel back the layers of your story with compassion, humor, & evidence-based care. I proudly support the LGBTQ+ community, anti-racism, & reproductive rights.

I'm not a “…so tell me about your day" type of therapist. Of course, we check in, and I am here for whatever you need in that moment. But we dive deeper, with intention, learn & unlearn, target core beliefs associated with current pain or triggers. I'm here to guide & create a roadmap for relief.

I also work with couples, particularly relationships in which a deeper emotional connection, healthier communication, or healing from abuse/trauma is the goal. You’re not alone. Therapy doesn't have to be scary!

I'm certified in EMDR Therapy, trained in IFS/CPT/CBT/TF-CBT/MI. Please do not hesitate to reach out!

Beth Pilcher, LISW-CP

I specialize in working with young women struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and food & body image concerns.

If you are someone who is pretty good at “keeping it together” on the outside, but inside you feel flooded with doubt, critical self-talk, and a constant fear of not being good enough, we may be a good fit to work together! I would love to help you learn how to quiet down that inner critic and make space for more self-kindness and compassion.

I take an active approach in my work with clients, providing a safe place for you to share your story while also offering tools, feedback, and discussion to help you better understand yourself and your experiences.  My style is casual & open, and there’s nothing I appreciate more than finding things to laugh about (even through the hard stuff). I take a person-centered approach to therapy, which means I believe that you are the expert on you. I am not there to “fix” you, but rather to help you see yourself more clearly and to support you on your journey toward being able to fully enjoy your life.

Amanda Capers, LPC

Hi, I’m Amanda and I’m a licensed professional counselor, offering in-person therapy in Charleston in addition to tele-therapy throughout SC and TN. I primarily work with individuals who are confronted with concerns about self worth, substance abuse, life transitions, depression, anxiety, and trauma.

I am passionate about normalizing mental health and receiving counseling because therapy is our “check up from the neck up.” We spend so much time on our physical health (diet, exercise, sleep) and often neglect our mental, emotional and spiritual needs. My goal as a counselor is to understand your struggles from your perspective using empathy. My hope is to provide you with a safe space, open ears, non-judgmental heart and to teach skills to help you find balance with life’s twists and turns. My clinical approach is using CBT, DBT, person-centered and strengths-based. Alternatively, I use mind-body approaches for holistic practices where appropriate.

Missa Borah, LISW-CP

Hi, my name is Missa. I work with individuals facing a variety of obstacles, including trauma, shame, addiction, questions about sexuality and gender identity, religious trauma, and the search for deeper self-acceptance. As part of the LGBTQ community, I understand firsthand the importance of an affirming space to explore your experience. Whether you're navigating the complexities of who you are, or struggling to find your place in a world that often feels unwelcoming, I am honored to walk alongside you every step of the way.

I am trained in EMDR and have experience with a variety of other modalities including CBT, ACT, and MI.

I offer telehealth services for residents of South Carolina and California, and in-person services for Charleston, SC residents.

Whether you're seeking to heal from past wounds, explore your identity, or simply find joy in who you are, I offer a non-judgmental and safe space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we can work toward cultivating a life of deeper self-compassion, authenticity, and lasting joy.

Anne Askins, LPCA

Hi! I’m Anne. You can see me for individual or group counseling. I have a wide variety of general mental health experience, but the populations & areas I have worked with most often include:
Queer & trans youth & adults;
Individuals undergoing life transitions such as starting college, career changes, or deciding to end a relationship;

Adult ADHD/autism;

Post-suicide attempt/inpatient recovery & return to functioning.
Obsessive compulsive disorder.

Bipolar disorder;
Generalized anxiety disorder & depression.

A little about me:

I believe each person possesses strengths, wisdom, and capacities that can become difficult to access when life feels overwhelming. My role is to walk alongside you with curiosity and compassion as we develop a deeper understanding of what’s going on, explore new possibilities, and find a path forward that feels authentic to you.

I also believe therapy should feel both professional and genuinely human. I’ll bring clinical knowledge, thoughtful guidance, and practical tools to our work—but I’ll also bring my actual personality. I want you to feel like you can show up as yourself, talk openly, laugh when we need to, and know that there’s a real person sitting across from you who is genuinely invested in your growth.

I won’t always tell you what you want to hear. Sometimes I’ll hold up a mirror, challenge you, or gently call you out when I think it could help. But I’m also probably going to be annoyingly good at seeing the good in you. Even when you’re struggling to recognize your own strengths, I’ll be looking for them—and reminding you they’re there.

My goal is to offer both the expertise you’re coming to therapy for and the authentic connection that can make therapy feel safe, collaborative, and worthwhile.

Alexis Jewell, LPC

Hi, I’m Alexis! I’m a licensed professional counselor associate and the founder of Ebb & Bloom, LLC. I work with those who are navigating grief, trauma, anxiety, and the seasons of life that leave you wondering, “Okay…where do I go from here?”

I believe healing isn’t always about fixing something that is wrong with you. Sometimes it’s about slowing down enough to understand what you’ve been carrying, reconnecting with yourself, and learning how to move forward without leaving pieces of yourself behind.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and trauma-informed. I integrate traditional talk therapy with somatic and body-based practices because I believe our bodies often hold pieces of our stories that are difficult to put into words. As a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, EMDR trained, and somatic practitioner, I incorporate mindfulness, movement, breath, and nervous-system awareness when they feel supportive to the therapeutic process.

Therapy with me isn’t about having all the answers or pretending everything is okay. It's about learning more about yourself and ways to overcome things that no longer serve you in your time. At the heart of my work is the belief that you can honor where you’ve been while still making space for where you’re going.

I hope to offer a place where you can slow down, take a breath, and remember that healing doesn’t have to happen all at once. Sometimes, we ebb. Sometimes, we bloom. Both are part of the process.
